Our History

Providence Church is a loving community of believers seeking obedience to the will of God. We have recently moved into Phase I of our new facility located just south of Broadmoore Elementary School.

The reason for the new facilities is part of the story God is weaving into the life of this church. Providence, formerly known as Trinity Baptist Church, was once located at 1711 North Broadway in Moore. On May 8, 2003, a tornado that swept through Moore destroyed the church facilities. Through this seemingly tragic situation, God, in His Providence, was establishing a new vision and ministry for this body of believers. In the weeks and months after the tornado, God led the congregation to move its base of ministry to a new location. 

In the years since the tornado, this body of believers has met for worship in several different locations and buildings (even outside, for that matter), and has just recently moved into Phase I of the main building on the church grounds. What God is doing is by no means complete at Providence Church! If you would like to know more about what God is doing at Providence or are interested in being a part of this journey with God, please come and visit us as soon as possible!
